well... in order to get to Hall of Heroes u first need to get to Heroes' Ascent... in order to get there...
travel to Battle Isles... from there u should be able to do Random Arenas... win 5 games in a row in RA to unlock Team Arenas... win 5 games in total in TA to unlock Heroes' Ascent... once there join up with a team and good luck |

Sadly, you prolly need to be part of a good guild (or 1 hell of a player)
but to get into pvp, i suggest looking for an unranked group and just keep going with those until you are rank 3 (unranked iway, ranger spike, or "balanced" are good...well expect unranked balanced...but you never know) Also you can go through ToPK...the last level is the Hall of Heroes if you just want to see it. |

Tomb of the Primeval Kings has actually become a PvE area. You can still get to HoH with a PvE group, but you can't win favor through PvE. Nice green weapons are acquired from PvE HoH.
Heroes Ascent is where you enter PvP tournaments to compete for favor in your region. Learning the maps is quite difficult for newbies since people seldom explain the objectives in pick up groups. Here is a wonderful guide to get you started: http://forums.gwonline.net/showthread.php?t=382193 Quote:

Lol, you direct him to another forum (I'm sad now).
I like the fact that you help him out, and I know you're just trying to be nice, but another forum..?! I'm very disappointed. |

I'm curious of something... And I have not had the oppertunity to check it. this may be a bad bug...
OK Lets say you join a guild with a island back in presearing... and go to the academy... then you go to ascalon right? ok Now Press G Hit the go to guild hall... now what? Do you take the boat to Lions arch? or are you in battle ilse for life now on that character??? just wondering... I had not thought of that till just this min.... This really needs checked. I may have to move some stuff around and delete my PvP character to do a quick check of this... |

One of the best ways for you to get into pvp is to do arenas first. while it is different from fighting in hero's ascent/halls, it will allow you to better learn your character that youre wanting to play. youll learn its stregnths and weaknesses. When you happen to find a good team that compliments your character well, make sure that you talk and communicate with the group. Networking is key to getting into pvp because it allows you to find people that have the same mindset. Add these people to your friends list and after you get a few of them then ask if they would like to get together and go to heros/halls. Also a guild will help. Guild groups if well organized with a decent build will do well in heros/halls. If you join a PUG (pick up group) be cordial and friendly to everyone on the team, even if u lose. again network with people. Never be afraid to ask anything, no matter how stupid you think it is. I would rather be in the district and have someone ask me about a build or character, then ask me when we go in and fight. Granted youll get people to flame you and be extremely rude (especially if you ask in observer chat) but youll also get people that will give you advice and be very helpful.
please dont be like a lot of people and do unranked IWAY ( warrior build using the I Will Avenge You shout and pets ) until you get ranked and then think that youre ready to join a group playing protection or healer or interrupt/shutdown mesmer. Sadly a lot of these people do not know how to play another build or character type and usually suck at it because they have no expierence with other characters. |
